Fake Call History Apps Stole Payments From Users After 7.3 Million Play Store Downloads

Cybersecurity researchers discovered 28 fraudulent apps on Google Play Store that claimed to provide access to call histories for any phone number. The apps tricked users into paid subscriptions that delivered fake data, resulting in financial losses. Combined, these apps were downloaded more than 7.3 million times, with one app accounting for a significant portion of those downloads.
